Great product, friendly service. Wasn't sure what to get. They helped me make my selection and the box looked gorgeous. Tried some samples too. Ended up picking up some fancy marmalade/fruit jelly type of a product and some dark chocolate discs with fruits and nuts for myself too. Both are divine. I will be back. I am glad I finally found a place in the East Bay that has great chocolate and outstanding service. Thanks guys.
We met Michael at the Zinfandel event in SF and OMG!!! We tried their bourbon caramel pecan chocolates and that was the most euphoric experience on my tongue. The combination of all ingredients complimented each flavor. Michael was so friendly and personable. He's very passionate about his craft and it comes across in his chocolate. Highly recommend

These are impressive chocolates! Michael was in and extremely helpful, of course we couldn't decide so we got one of each. And the shop was phenomenal in one of my favorite parts of Oakland! I love when shops have ample lighting and this place did! Can't wait to come back for the ginger chocolates!

So lucky to get Yelp help on this - I was in Oakland and wanted to pick up some good chocolate for gifts Very special place - they also had great coffee and gelato- I picked up some dark chocolate Santa's and some gift boxes- I also bought a dark chocolate candy bar - I opened that up on the way to the car !!! Perfect !!!! The staff was super friendly and I will go back for sure !!
I randomly found this place and holy smokes the hot chocolate with house made marshmallows is shockingly good... Like challenge your palette good. Took me two days to finish it because it was so satisfying for its size. It's complex and creamy like watching a good documentary or something. I used to adore dandelion hot chocolate but I moved to east bay and an so glad I found a place near me.

I loved michael's before and it was a local favorite of mine. I was curious about the new owner(s) and was thrilled that not only is my favorite chocolate store improved, but the owners are super friendly. They came out and spent a lot of time with me talking about what I liked before, what they have, etc. Customer service is an A plus. The presentation of the chocolate is beautiful and the bourbon truffles are amazing. I was so excited by how great the chocolate was that I ended up buying a huge bag of chocolates and are now plowing through them. I can't recommend this place enough...
A few years ago, I started hosting a Rainbow Bazaar at our office during Pride month, where I invited LGBTQ+ owned businesses to showcase and sell their wares to our employees. Michael's Chocolates - run by Michael and his partner Curtis - was part of the first market and I've invited them to several other events since. An unexpected occurrence happened during this inaugural Rainbow Bazaar a few years ago: "Michael's Chocolates" met "Olive This Olive That" and they've been happily partnered ever since...well partners in business that is. They created a praline that features olive oil from this store selling olive oil and other delicious stuff. Above all though, the chocolate they're making is delicious, innovative and beautiful to look at. They come out with a special colorful Pride Collection as well as a chocolate heel that I just loved biting into!
